Lara Rhame is Chief U.S. Economist and Managing Director on the Investment Research team at FS Investments, where she analyzes developments in the global and U.S. economy and financial markets. Her fresh take on macroeconomic issues helps to inform and develop the firm’s long-term views on the economy, investment trends and issues facing investors.

Prior to joining Franklin Square, Lara served as a Senior Economist at Credit Suisse, where she met with institutional and private clients around the globe to discuss market events and the global economy. She began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and has since worked at other Wall Street institutions, including Brown Brothers Harriman and Lehman Brothers.

Her analysis has been cited in financial news outlets, including Bloomberg News and The Wall Street Journal, and shared via guest appearances on CNBC and CNN. Lara holds a BA in Economics from Bates College and performed post-graduate macroeconomic studies at New York University.

Lara is committed to the Philadelphia community and serves on the boards of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, Hyperion Bank and Starr Garden Park.
