Henrietta Treyz
Director of Economic Policy Research, Veda Partners
Presentation: "The Cross Roads of Trade and Politices"
Henrietta Treyz is Managing Partner and Director of Economic Policy Research at Veda Partners. Henrietta has been providing investors with economic policy analysis for over a decade, leading a macroeconomic policy team through the recession, financial services reform, healthcare reform and has for the last two years been predominantly focused on the various trade policies of the Trump administration impacting the global marketplace and investment community. Her analysis is derived from legislative, regulatory and political events nationally and at the state level on issues as diverse as the proposed border tax adjustment, national security and other tariffs, taxation of foreign derived earnings, corporate inversions, the debt ceiling and other economic and fiscal priorities of Capitol Hill. Her thesis on trade has been consistent since 4Q2017 when the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was signed into law and it became clear that President Trump would not have any further legislative win’s to speak to on the campaign trail. There are two main issues the administration can tackle unilaterally without Congress: immigration and trade. She has, as a result, predicted since 2017 that Section 232 national security tariffs but also Section 301 tariffs against China, India and perhaps other countries (notably the EU), as well as tariffs on automobiles and parts from the European Union are likely in the coming months.
Henrietta also has extensive hands on experience with local, state and national elections across the country including Texas, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey and the 2008 Presidential election. Henrietta has covered mid-term and general elections for investors in each general and midterm election since 2010.
She holds a BA in political science and literature from Fordham University and is the Louisiana Chapter Leader of Everytown affiliate, Mom's Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and works closely with Mayors Against Illegal Guns. She currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana with her husband and two daughters. She is also a frequent contributor to CNBC, Bloomberg and other news outlets.
